Episode One~

Getting out onto the beach I was feeling a bit nervous. It was pretty intimidating seeing 26 other people standing next to me and not knowing what was going to happen next. I saw people that looked like strong competition and others that might give me a hard time getting ahead. So I was ready to hear what was going to happen at this point!

Lex told us that the 27 of us would have to divide ourselves into 3 groups of 9. I decided that I was going to just kinda sit back and let people start forming groups and then join wherever there was a spot left. I was thinking that these groups werent going to be tribes because we didn't receive any buffs or told our tribe name.

So now the 9 of us are just hanging around wondering what will happen next. I feel like this is going to be a tough adventure and hopefully one that I will never forget!

Today we found out that we would be competing against each other for the title of Captain. The Captains will be able to pick their tribes! My strategy is to kinda lay low at the start and being a Captain certainly would put a target on someones back early on. So I'm not sure I really want this role, but I know that being a Captain is guaranteed safety for a little while. I know a couple people in this game and could form a tribe with a majority where I'm safe. So its a little tempting, but I'm not sure if I wan the power right now.

When the challenge came down to Andrew and Myself I knew that it needed to end as soon as possible without it looking like one of us threw it to the other. The reason behind this is that the longer we kept competing against each other the more people were going to see us as a threat. So we needed to come to a deal where we both benefited from the other person winning.

Andrew agreed with me and decided to throw it to me. Now I know that it could have been very easy for me to just throw it to Andrew and not have the attention on myself. The only reason that I didn't give it to Andrew was because he doesn't have the previous relationships that I have in order to form a tribe that is going to keep him and myself safe. So I knew that me having it was better for us and I took the role as Captain.

I'm now one of the three Captains. I'm actually kinda laughing about this because I came into this game saying how my strategy was to lay low at the beginning and here I am in the most above the radar position right now. lol. It's kinda funny how your entire strategy can go out the window once you start the game.

I feel good about this role though because I feel like I can form a tribe that as long as there isn't a switch will keep me safe for the duration. So I don't see myself leaving in the first couple rounds. I also think I can still lay low after I've formed my tribe. So I think that while this was a risk, it was also an opportunity to kinda form a tribe surrounding myself by friends and possibly taking out a foe early.

I guess will see what happens next, but I'm excited for the future of this game!

Since I won the Captain Challenge I was sent to a clearing along with Chase and Matt near the beach. All of us had pretty much expected that we would now be selecting our tribe name and color as well as our tribe members.

However, as Lex reminded us this game was not going to be as it seemed and twists were going to be thrown at us. Right away we received our first major one of the season. We would not be picking our tribes, but the other tribe captains would be picking them for us.

The 3 of us looked at each other and pretty much gasped. I know that I was not happy that I had fought hard to be the last one standing on my tribe and now I might be stuck with people who aren't going to help me get ahead in this game. It was pretty disheartening because it made you feel like what you had worked for was really for nothing.

I decided though that I was going to try and make the best of the situation and turn the twist in my favor. So I suggested to Chase and Matt that each of us would pick members of our tribe that we wanted. They both agreed and so each of us got the people on our tribe that we would have chosen ourselves. I was glad to see that Chase and Matt were up to the idea because I think had we picked players for the other tribes it would have caused tension between the 3 of us and we would have been in a more vulnerable position.

Now I have my tribe of 9 people. I certainly didn't get all the people I wanted, but I got enough people to where I can feel safe if we head to Tribal Council. Our tribe name is Bayonaca and our tribe color is light blue. I chose the name because Bayonaca because I was thinking about being by the "Bay" here and then I was like "O" and then I was like nada, but that means no in spanish so naca works. lol. There wasn't really any intellectual thought behind it. Light blue because thats the color of the ocean and its pretty!

I'm excited about having this tribe. I think I have the right balance of close relationships, strong competitors, and even people who will make themselves a target early on taking the target off my back. So this will be interesting, but I'm very much looking forward to our first challenge as a tribe and getting to know everyone better!

Stephenie is on my tribe for two reasons. The first one is that I know that she is a challenge queen and can win this tribe some challenges single handled. The second is that we have an extremely rocky past and if this tribe starts losing challenges I have her right where I want her. So Stephenie is a target of mine and that's why I chose her. I can get rid of a big foe of mine if this tribe doesn't do well and loses a lot of the challenges.

I am the forgiving type though and I could see Stephenie and I working together rather then against each other, but she will have to prove a lot to me for me to not believe she's that same manipulative and backstabbing player she was before.

Tom is pretty much my #1 guy. We have a great history together and of course will work together again in this game. I think we just get each other and trust each other which is so important in a game of this size. Tom is very good at getting people on his side and appearing to kinda have everyone working for him. So I value Tom as an ally and respect him as a player.

Andrew and Tom are really my top two guys who I will be open and honest with on just about everything. I think its good to have two people that you trust because if something happens to one of them then you still have the other one around. I think that with them on my tribe I will go quite far in this game.

Going into our first Immunity Challenge I was hoping that we would be able to win it. I think winning the first challenge gives you a lot of mental confidence moving forward. So a win would be great for tribe morale and keep all of us from focusing on making targets for the future.

Our challenge was to divided into three separate groups and then either attack or defend ourselves from the other members from the opposite tribes. Our strategy was pretty much to allow each group to determine the moves they felt would best help them win their heat.

In the end we ended up not placing first, but also not placing last. However, we were told that only one tribe would win at the beginning of the challenge and unfortunately that meant we were going to Tribal Council. I am upset we lost, but I'm not worried about it. It's very clear to everyone here that Amanda has no interest in moving forward. We know she's our weakest member and she has made herself an easy target. So I don't think this trip to Tribal Council will divide us at a tribe and I think that's very important moving forward.
